Who is Fernanda Gusman

When my daughter was a baby, I desperately wanted to pierce her ears, but I couldn't find a single place that offered the gentle, humanized experience I knew she deserved. I didn't want a cold, clinical environment or a traumatic "gun" piercing; I wanted care, patience, and empathy.

Do you use numbing cream?
Numbing cream is completely optional. If you choose to use it, I recommend applying it 15 minutes before your appointment, gently massaging and covering the earlobe to allow time for it to take effect. I also use a skin cooler pen during the procedure to help make the experience even more comfortable.
Do you use a traditional pressure gun?
Absolutely not. I use a hand-pressure device, which is very different from traditional mall guns. It offers more control and precision. The earrings used in this system are sharp, similar to a needle, allowing for a quick and smooth piercing.
At what age can I pierce my baby's ears?
According to Canadian health recommendations, it is best to wait until after the first round of vaccinations — especially the tetanus vaccine. This usually happens around 8 weeks of age. Your baby’s safety always comes first.
What is the best age for ear piercing?
There is no “perfect” age. Earrings for baby girls are often a beautiful cultural tradition. The best time is when your family feels ready and comfortable. I’m here to guide you and make the experience calm and special.
Can I use my own earrings?
Yes, you can. However, the earrings must be high quality to prevent irritation or future complications. I recommend:

Earrings must be properly sterilized. When using your own earrings, the piercing is performed with the needle technique. If you prefer, I also provide safe, high-quality starter earrings.
What is the best technique: needle or hand-pressured device?
Both techniques are safe when performed correctly. During your appointment, I explain both options and help you choose what feels best for your baby. I also observe your baby’s temperament — some babies are more sensitive, others are more relaxed. My priority is always a gentle and comfortable experience.
Is the procedure hygienic and sterile?
Yes. All materials are properly sterilized, and I follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure your baby’s safety.
